Meet Olivia

Creativity - while exciting and liberating, can feel vulnerable. You are sharing the parts of yourself that can be scary to bring to light. It’s like part of your soul is on display.

Creativity takes courage. Self expression and using your voice requires a feeling of safety and support beyond what is required for most other interests or pursuits.

I am already proud of you.

As a music therapist, I offer you the chance to explore your creativity and expression in a safe and non-judgemental space. We will be a team on your journey. I will listen to you, push you when needed, and empower your ideas and insights.

As a music coach, I provide the tailored learning, frameworks and experiences that will make music (in your way) not only accessible, but achievable.

My musical journey has been a lifelong source of joy, inspiration and connection. I was less than four years old when I started picking out melodies by ear on my grandmother’s keyboard, and I haven’t stopped since then! I studied classical piano throughout childhood, added singing along the way, both of which I’ve studied at the post-secondary level. I have performed in choirs, churches, theatre productions, dinner theatre groups and a-cappella groups into adulthood. In 2018, I graduated from Capilano University in North Vancouver with a Bachelor’s of Music Therapy, and a Diploma of Music.

My musical passion has not only been a source of confidence and connection with others, but also my own personal refuge. Music has both carried me through life lows, and has helped me soar. With over 15 years of experience teaching music (I started teaching piano in high school!) and more than 5 years as a certified music therapist working in healthcare, education and community settings, I’ve used music as a tool to support almost every age group and those with complex circumstances including neurodivergence, anxiety/low self-esteem, mental health diagnoses and brain injury.

I am always finding inspiration, and new favourite songs, through the incredible individuals and groups that come my way and that I have the honour of working with. I incorporate piano, guitar, ukulele, singing and percussion into my practice, well, those are the main ones at least!

Music has given me so much, and it’s my mission to share it.
